Carnival comedy capers
Date published: 18 April 2011
OLDHAM Carnival looks set to be a knockout this year as comedy capers and bizarre costumes will ensure family fun for all.
The It’s a Knockout tournament is back at this year’s event for the first time since 2008, and it’s bigger, better and dafter than ever.
Organisers are urging teams of 10 who are game for a laugh to sign up for the competition.
The carnival, supported by the Oldham Chronicle, is at Alexandra Park on Sunday, June 26, from 3 to 7pm.
Event director Paul Davies said: “It’s a bigger set up this year so we can accommodate even more teams.”
Up to 24 teams of mixed age and gender are needed to emulate the hilarity witnessed during the TV game show, which ran from the 1960s.
