A SEMI-PRO mountain bike racer has had four bikes worth more than £12,000 stolen from his home.
Tom Braithwaite has travelled the world to compete in some of the best competitions.
Thieves broke into an outbuilding at the 26-year-old’s house in Delph Lane, Denshaw. Though the burglary triggered the house alarm, the thieves managed to flee with the bikes.
The bikes are a Santa Cruise downhill racer (white, green trim, worth about £4,000); a silver and grey Giant (worth £2,000); a gold Trek bike (£2,400) and a metallic blue Giant downhill racing bike (£4,000-plus).
Police are appealing to anyone with information about the bikes to come forward. Anyone with information should call police in Oldham on 0161-872 5050 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
