Date published: 20 April 2011
Three new money advice officers have been drafted in to help Oldham housing association tenants with worries about their finances.
Regenda, the group which includes Oldham-based West Pennine Housing Association and its subsidiary the Limehurst Village Trust, has appointed the trio who will provide assistance with managing debt, budgeting and checking their benefit entitlement.
They are Colette Gorst, Mark Roberts and Sue Thomas. Mark is an income generation officer at Regenda with over 25 years’ experience in housing and providing money advice.
Colette has been working with Regenda to deliver Be Moneywise, a project which provides free advice on money matters and is a highly-qualified specialist, manager and trainer with the Citizens’ Advice Bureau. Sue has extensive knowledge of working in the housing sector to help vulnerable tenants with debt and welfare problems.
The group now owns and manages more than 13,000 units. Over 10 per cent are in sheltered housing schemes or for wheelchair users.
