A POLICE helicopter was used to help in the arrest of suspected robbers.
At about 7.50pm on Monday police were called to Travis Street, Shaw, following reports that two people wanted in connection with offences had been seen.
One of them climbed on to the roof of a house in Oak Street and made threats to harm himself.
Officers negotiated with the 16-year-old boy and he came down safely after about 20 minutes.
He was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody for questioning.
A police helicopter was called in to help locate the other 17-year-old offender who was found in near-by Vicarage Street.
He initially violently refused arrest so officers used CS spray to subdue him and he was arrested on suspicion of burglary at 9.20pm. He also remains in custody for questioning.
