12 accused of mortgage fraud

Twelve people charged in connection with mortgage fraud and drug offences were remanded on bail by Oldham magistrates yesterday for committal to crown court.
The charge follow a two-year police operation and involves 10 people from Oldham and two from Haslingden who face a range of mortgage fraud offences, including false accounting, and drug charges.
They are Riaz Bibi (43), Imran Zamir (23), and Mohammed Zamir (49), from the same property in Wellington Road, Werneth, and Mohammed Farid (37), from a different address in Wellington Road, Werneth; Zulfiqar Ali (51), Miriam Begum (25), and Mustafa Ahmed (24), all from the same property in School House Road, Roundthorn; Tasleem Asif (30), Lowside Drive, Glodwick; Syed Bukhari (45), Harper Street, Coppice; Saeed Aktar (36), Thorncliffe Avenue, Royton.
Also charged are Ian Cole (49) and Danielle Cole (30), from Kirkhill Avenue, Haslingden.
The case was adjourned for a committal hearing on June 15.
