AWAY we go . . . Saddleworth Morris Men in action
PARISHIONERS and morris men celebrated Good Friday in glorious sunshine with their traditional Easter events.
Saddleworth Churches Together held the annual procession of witness in Uppermill while Saddleworth Morris Men kicked off their season with their long-established tour of the villages.
The Good Friday service began in The Square before the cross was taken in a silent procession to the museum car park, where it will stay until ascension day on June 2.
The procession was followed by the arrival of Saddleworth Morris Men and secretary Dave Holland said: “It went very well. The weather helped massively and a lot of people were out.”
