Trio of Oldhamers make awards shortlist

A CROP of community heroes from Oldham are in the running to bag an award for their efforts.
A trio of caring locals have been nominated as part of the Fusion Awards, a Nort-West initiative designed to celebrate the achievements of people from all walks of life.
Oldham’s very own children’s author Moinul Islam has been nominated for the entrepreneur of the year gong.
He has juggled his busy job and voluntary work with writing his Anisha’s Adventures stories, originally for his daughter.
Nanu Miah is up for man of year award after working for 20 years to stand up against racism and make his community safe.
Rabina Kauser is doing it for the girls after driving change in the community lending a hand to people struggling to get into employment.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Blackburn Rovers Football Club, on May 21.
