FOUR ramblers who have clocked up over 100 years of tireless strolls and tidying our footpaths between them have been honoured for their long service.
Oldham Ramblers Association presented Ernie Garlick, John Walton, Ron Powell and Barbara Tierney with certificates for their dedication and thanked them for their work.
The four have worked tirelessly to give enjoyment to almost 600 members of the local group, helping keep footpaths up to standard and organising walks on Wednesdays and Sundays every week.
Other activities arranged include coach trips, with destinations such as Wales and the Dales, and a recent hoedown, where the certificates were presented.
John, from Chadderton, is the footpaths secretary and has been with the group for more than 35 years. Ernie, also from Chadderton; Ron, of Royton; and Barbara, from Chadderton; have clocked up more than 25 years each.
Committee member Alan Forster said: “We are very grateful.
“We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the hoedown at St Herbert’s Church.”
