Big break for school setting Gold standard
Date published: 04 May 2011
INVESTING in staff has brought an Oldham primary school Gold success.
SS Aidan and Oswald RC Primary School, in Royton, achieved the prestigious Gold status at their recent Investors in People (IIP) review, acknowledging achievement of world class best practice.
It puts the school among in the top one per cent of IIP award holders in the country to have achieved Gold recognition and means they can display a special logo and enjoy the benefits.
IIP helps improve an organisation’s performance through good practice in people management.
The award was presented by former world snooker champion and devout Christian Shaun Murphy, fresh from the recent tournament at The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
Head teacher Damian Harrison said: “We have a superb staff team here who are utterly dedicated to our core mission — to provide the best possible Catholic education for our children.”
Chris Jones, head of operations at IIP, said: “This is a fantastic achievement. I’d like to congratulate the team on its commitment to continuous improvement.”
