Lorraine Wilson: attacked
Oh my God, we’ve got the wrong house: robbers
A MUM with a heart condition suffered a terrifying machete attack at the hands of robbers — who admitted they chose the wrong house.
Lorraine Wilson of Limeside Road, Limeside, was threatened with a foot-long machete and punched in the face and shoulder after three masked men burst into her home.
Wearing only her nightdress, Mrs Wilson (48) was pinned face-down on her sofa by one robber, who demanded to know who lived at the house while the other two ransacked the upstairs rooms.
But after realising they had targeted the wrong house, the thug then apologised to the terrified mother-of-two.
Mrs Wilson, who was born with two congenital heart defects, said she feared for her life during the seven-minute ordeal on Saturday.
She said: “I was watching TV at about 10.30pm and had left my back door open to let my four cats out when they charged back in.
“I turned around and saw three men standing in my kitchen, one wielding a machete, and started screaming. A man wearing a red bandana punched me in the jaw four times and knocked me to the couch before punching my shoulder while the other two went upstairs.
“They were demanding to know who was in the house and whose car was parked outside.
“I said I lived alone and the car belonged to someone else when the robber said ‘Oh my God, we’ve got the wrong house’ and told me ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“He shouted to the other two and told me not to call the police but as soon as they’d gone, I locked myself in my downstairs toilet and rang the police.”
The men wore hooded coats, bandanas over their faces, and are all in their 20s.
They stole £180 — which Mrs Wilson said was to pay for vet treatment for two of her cats — an iPod and two old mobile phones.
Mrs Wilson, who was taken to hospital suffering severe bruising and swelling to her cheek and shoulder, said she wants the gang caught.
She added: “I was frightened for my life and didn’t know what was going to happen.
“I’m still very shaken, I can’t sleep and have high blood pressure.
“My grown-up daughter and son were disgusted with what happened and very upset, they worry about me living alone.
“I want the police to find them, these people need to be caught.”
Greater Manchester Police said no arrests have been made so far but enquiries are ongoing.
