FIREFIGHTING fit . . . the Hollins crew to tackle the Chester run
FIREFIGHTERS from Hollins will swap hosepipes for running shoes when they tackle the Chester Half Marathon on Sunday.
The 20-strong team will complete the 13-mile race in aid of The Firefighters Charity and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Watch commander Tony Morgan said: “We have all been training hard for the run as no-one wants to be the last one to cross the finishing line on the day.
“We chose the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as several members of the crew have children affected by the condition and we always support The Firefighters Charity. We’ve raised around £900 so far with more money to come in and are hoping for a final total of around £2,000.
