CHARITY walkers who have dubbed themselves the Blister Sisters are getting fit for a 50-mile hike.
And Michelle Sutton, Anna Leatherbarrow, Kirsty Absalom and Zoe Close have an extra challenge . . . they have to compete the distance in 24 hours.
The tough route will take the quartet — all Clarke Telecom project co-ordinators in Chadderton — from the Pennines to Blackburn and back, with the aim of raising as much cash as possible for MedEquip4Kids, the charity which provides children’s healthcare.
Another colleague, Natalie Fletcher, organised the event but has had to pull out due to injury.
She said: “We’ve all been out walking, one day we walked 23 miles and came back sunburnt. Our manager was keen for us to do it because it is helping a good cause and it’s a good team-building activity.”
The girls set off on Saturday, June 25, and return the following day. Clarke Telecom raised £632 plus donations at a recent benefit party at Royton Conservative Club.
