What’s the best way to Waterloo Rd? Practice!

Date published: 20 May 2011

TALENTED young actors from Oldham Stagecoach Theatre School are set to make their screen debut in a popular TV series.

The 15 students, aged between 13 and 16, have been selected to appear in BBC’s Waterloo Road and will appear in series eight, to be aired in the autumn.

And they will be working hard through their summer holidays as filming starts in Rochdale this month and ends in September for the extras — who are “mega excited,” according to their coach.

Principal Kate Parkinson said: “Two of the children have been in the programme before, but because they were talented and really well-behaved, I was approached to see if we had anymore available for series eight.

“Last time the two went in as extras and they got speaking parts — the producers are going to see who fits into what roles when they get there.

“This will be a great experience for them, working with the crew and cast every day and who knows what it may lead to in the future?”
