IT'S get set, go as the under eights power off.
YOUNG runners took to the hills on Sunday as part of the annual Saddleworth Fell Race.
Members of the Saddleworth Runners set off on the three-mile slog starting from Tanners Waterside Mill in Greenfield, climbing 950 feet up to Alderman Hill, crossing Pots and Pans and dropping steeply back down to Tanners Mill.
Youngsters were divided into different age categories of under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18s.
This year, the traditional May race will act as a qualifier for the Manchester Junior Fell Championships.
New members are always welcome at the junior training sessions at Churchill playing fields from 6pm every Thursday. Find out more at www.saddleworth-runners.co.uk
