A BUMPER summer of culture, creativity and fun awaits visitors to Gallery Oldham this year.

The town centre facility has unveiled its summer line-up including impressive and intriguing events to lure in visitors.

Showcasing the work of Oldham’s artists, the Vision and Reality exhibition will run until September 11, featuring work by William Stott and John Houghton Hague.

The display shows landscapes and townscapes and aims to also reflect the travels of Oldham artists.

The ever-popular Oldham Open exhibition is back to celebrate the creativity of those in the borough.

From drawing, painting and photography to ceramics, jewellery and sculpture, the event is on until June 26.

But there is something for everyone at the gallery.

Nature-lovers will appreciate the fine art, textiles and ceramics focussing on the subject of flowers.

Displaying pressed flowers, Forget-Me-Not: The Language of Flowers runs until December 4.

Meanwhile free gallery talks take place on the second Wednesday of each month from 2pm.

Holiday fun is also on the cards for youngsters with face-painting and craft activities during the summer holidays. The free events are for children aged 4-10.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the family friendly film club provides a relaxed space for the whole family to have fun together on Sundays.

The next free screening takes place on Sunday, June 26, but places are limited. To book a place call 0161 -70 4653.
