ITEMS believed to have been abandoned by thugs who attacked a Grotton man with a hammer have been found.
Detectives appealed in the Chronicle for help in tracing two metal bars, about 19in long, a sledgehammer, balaclava and gloves after the 32-year-old was attacked in front of his wife in their home in Grotton Meadows last Wednesday. Gloves and a jacket have been found under a near-by car but the weapons are still being sought.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries and is now recovering at home.
Three men, aged 19, 18 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and have been bailed until August 5 pending further inquiries.
