Jewellery theft case goes to crown court

THE case of a 25-year-old care home worker charged with stealing precious items of jewellery from elderly residents has been committed to the crown court.
Stacy Matthews, of Brunswick Street, Shaw, was arrested after three rings and three necklaces went missing at Dryclough Manor in Royton on December 17. The three female victims were aged 81, 87 and 102.
Matthews appeared before Oldham Magistrates Court yesterday and was given unconditional bail until July 19 when the matter will be heard at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court.
