Birthday wish: come home son
A DESPERATE mum has her hopes pinned on her missing son returning home for her birthday.
This weekend marks the third month since Ciaron Nuttall’s disappearance.
The 19-year-old was last seen in Cardigan Street, Royton, on March 5, but his family, of Charcon Walk, Royton, are no closer to finding out what has happened to him, despite hours of police help.
His mum, Ann-Marie Walls, said she was going out of her mind with worry because it was completely out of character for Ciaron to go away for more than a few nights.
She said the best thing that could happen is that he came home for her birthday on June 17.
Last time she saw him they “had a little tiff over nothing.”
She said: “When that happened normally he used to go to his friend’s and the next day it was all forgotten about.
“He went to stay at his friend’s for a couple of nights and we haven’t heard from him since.
“He hasn’t taken his passport and even if he had gone to Ireland, we have loads of family there so we would know where he was. His bank card and all his clothes are here. We don’t think he has any cash.”
Ann-Marie said Ciaron had missed mother’s day, birthdays and his cousin being born - and that wasn’t like him at all.
Ciaron’s brother, Tom, said: “His mobile died on March 13. I don’t know what to think anymore. I’ve facebooked all his friends, no one has heard from him - he has just disappeared. He isn’t seeing anyone that we know of - he’d normally be boasting about it.
“He’s not the kind of person to set up on his own, he likes being with his friends.
“We just want him to come home so we can get back to normal.”
Ciaron Nuttall is 5’9”, with shaved dark hair, brown eyes and two pierced ears. He has a tribal tattoo on his right hand and a tattoo saying Jade - in memory of his sister - up his arm.
He was last seen wearing a brown hooded jacket, navy jeans and silver boots.
Detective Inspector Dave Massey, of Oldham CID, said: “Ciaron’s family and friends and the police are extremely concerned for his welfare. It is totally out of character for him to go missing but also for him to not use his phone or Facebook account.”
Anyone who has seen Ciaron can contact Oldham CID on 0161 856 8951 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
