A BLOOMING brilliant project to celebrate grassroots progress in Failsworth was celebrated by youngsters.
Brothers Josh (7) and Kyle Lord (5) were among those cheering more than three years of dedication at the community scheme.
Youngsters enjoyed a day of fun including bird and bat box-making, duck-hooking and a scarecrow race as well as learning how to tend for sweet peas and sunflowers.
But the adults did not miss out on the action as hanging basket sessions and wildlife stands prompted intrigue.
The event was a celebration of the Grassroots Project based at Marlborough Drive in Failsworth, that has seen a derelict site filled with rubbish transformed into a thriving space for everyone.
Development officer Sara Lewis said: “That’s the great thing about the project, it’s for everyone.
“From the elderly to children, people really enjoy it.
“It’s a stepping stone to employment for some as they can learn new skills. The improvements have been unbelievable and we’re massively pleased with how far we’ve come.”
