MORE than 100 people were walking on sunshine when they pounded the pavements in aid of Help for Heroes.

Chadderton Town Crier Reg Lord got the event underway in a sunny Coalshaw Green Park.
The six-mile route took them to Foxdenton and Chadderton Hall Parks before returning to Coalshaw Green where a funday ran from noon to 4pm. Attractions included archery, a climbing wall, a bouncy castle, the Blue Crew cheerleaders, Chadderton Brass Band and dancers from the Buckley Belles.
The event is the brainchild of Barbara Wilson, chairman of the Friends of Coalshaw Green Park.
She headed the organising committee and said: “It went extremely well, I am very pleased with it. On the day we raised £1,402 but we still have more to come in from the sponsorship money.
“Last year we had bad weather, but this year it turned itself round and the sun shone.
“We will be doing it again and hopefully it will be bigger and better next year.”
