We’re not only here for the beer

CHARITY fundraisers are celebrating after Beer Walk organisers pledged to hand over £5,000 to the Pennine Acute Trust’s In Your Hands Appeal.
Thousands of revellers are expected to descend on Saddleworth on Saturday, June 18, for the day of fundraising fun.
Saddleworth Round Table, which organises the event, has chosen to support the trust’s campaign that aims to raise £200,000 this year for the new purpose-built women and children’s unit at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
Jan Bolton charitable fundraising manager Pennine Acute Trust, said: “The Beer Walk is just one example of how people can have fun and raise money for some fantastic charities at the same time. The money will go towards equipment to treat the tiniest and most vulnerable babies and children.
“We still have a quite a way to go before we reach our target of £200,000 so please do get in touch if you would like to get involved.”
The purpose-built four-storey building is due to be completed by December, 2012.
