JUBILANT organisers toasted a storming success as the 14th event came to a close.
Nine days of culture, creativity and entertainment have seen a star-studded line up perform alongside the best of Saddleworth’s amateur groups.
Audiences indulged in must-see events including sets from presenter Julia Bradbury, comic Barry Cryer and music from the Orchestra of the Swan.
Committee member Geoffrey Roberts said: “Every single event has been so satisfying, the quality has been very high and this year we have managed to widen participation and interest.
“Everyone has said how amazed they were that we managed to draw big names in. It’s been another brilliant year.”
Popular newscaster John Suchet delighted his audience in Uppermill on Friday. Once crowned Television Journalist of the Year and Newscaster of the Year, he has certainly carved out a distinguished journalism career.
But his crowd was there to hear about his second passion — classical music, in particular Beethoven.
He was joined by pianist Simon Mulligan.
