A MOTHER has paid an emotional tribute to the father of her two children who died in a tragic road accident yesterday.
Michael David Lofthouse received fatal injuries when his red Yamaha scooter collided with a Toyota Colorado which was reversing off a driveway in Turf Pit Lane, Oldham.
The 27-year-old, from the Moorside area, died at the Royal Oldham Hospital shortly after the accident, which occurred at 6.20pm.
His partner, Kathryn, said: “Michael was a lovely, bubbly lad who loved his family and kids.
“He was a devoted father and the most kind-hearted person I have ever met.
“He was the love of my life.”
Mr Lofthouse, who had two daughters, Ellie (two) and a one-month-old baby, was one of four brothers.
Police called to the scene closed parts of Sunfield Avenue, Whitehall Street and Ripponden Road to allow emergency crews to work.
They were alerted by a number of calls from members of the public, and police are urging any witnesses to the collision to contact them at the Road Policing Unit on 0161-856 8473.
