THE sun shone on revellers in Alexandra Park at a free family fun day which tempted the crowds out to play.
Go Oldham Unite is an annual event run in the park by Oldham Children and Youth Alliance. It gets National Lottery funding to provide free activities for children and young people, and the fun day is the culmination of its work throughout the year.
Organisers said it was the best attended Go Oldham Unite since the event was launched five years ago, and it offered a wealth of activities for people of all ages.
There was everything from Dragon-boat racing, arts and crafts and go-kart rallies to drumming and dance workshops, giant inflatable games and a climbing wall.
The event also showcased dance and gave families the chance to find out what activities will be taking place in Oldham over the summer holidays.
