Ex-servicemen joined the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Richard Knowles, for the unfurling and raising of the Armed Forces Day flag at the civic centre yesterday to join the country in raising awareness and support for Britain’s soldiers, sailors and airmen and women.
The raising of the flag marked the start of a week of celebrations culminating with the Armed Forces Day national event in Edinburgh on Saturday.
