THIS smart new wall means the road from Dobcross to Saddleworth Golf Club has re-opened to traffic. But the work, on Ladcastle Road, is in two phases, and phase two starts on Monday for 32 weeks, closing the road at the Greenfield station end. The project is due to finish at the end of February.
Just when you thought it was over...
THERE’S no escaping diversions for drivers in Saddleworth as yet another set of road closures and restrictions are on their way.
A safety inspection of Uppermill viaduct will affect main routes through the village on Sunday, July 10.
Parts of High Street, Den Lane and Brownhill Lane will be affected with diversions listed as Platting Road, Church Road and Dobcross New Road.
Meanwhile Stoneswood Road in Delph will close for five days from Monday, July 4, to allow electricity works.
Temporary traffic signals and parking restrictions will then be in place for 14 weeks on the road.
Residents in Delph could also be grumbling when parking restrictions are enforced on Grains Road.
The no-waiting restrictions will affect just 70 metres on either side of the road close to its junction with King Street from Saturday, July 23 to Sunday, September 4.
The intention is to ease congestion on Grains Road while it is used as an alternative route during sewer works in Denshaw Road.
Restrictions will be in place from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm at weekends.
