Church launches search for families

Families of people whose ashes were interred at a Dobcross church are being traced before a refurbishment scheme starts.
Work is due to begin at Holy Trinity Church in September.
It includes the rebuilding of retaining walls, a new water main, improved drainage, York stone paving, a stone memorial table for flowers, re-turfing, new external lighting, and a hedge.
The Parochial Church Council would like to contact as many relatives of those whose ashes are interred as possible to notify them that it is to take place.
PCC member Paul Wooding said: “We expect the work will take two months.
“We will have contractors in for the main work on walls and paving but some of the other jobs such as new soil, hedging and turfing will be done by members of the church.
“If you know, or know of, any relatives could you please ask that they contact either Dorothy Townend (01457-873 861), Rosie Renold (01457-873 657) or Ian Hargreaves (01457-871 211).
