Date published: 29 June 2011
Oldham Coliseum is holding an open day to reveal how its shows are created.
The Fairbottom Street theatre is inviting young and old to attend the free event on Saturday from 10am to 4pm to look nehind the scenes and find out more about the theatre’s rich history.
There’s the chance to take a backstage tour, dress up in costumes and wigs and clown around by learning circus skills.
Visitors can test out the lights and sound effects, browse rarely-seen archives, mix a cocktail with bar staff, get creative with props and posters and sample Education and Outreach taster sessions.
Chief Executive and Artistic Director Kevin Shaw will be on hand to answer questions and visitors can find out more about the theatre’s plans for 2012.
