Prison for honey-trap robbers

A COUPLE who targeted a vulnerable pensioner in a “honey-trap” robbery have been jailed for a total of 12 years.
During the robbery their friend Kirk Price, from Derker, was stabbed by the victim and later died.
Mark Puckering (29) and Kerry Daysley (32), both from Hull, plotted with Kirk Price (38), to rob pensioner Barrie Moseley in his home in Hull. Both have previous convictions for theft and burglary.
Daysley (32) had arranged to go to Mr Moseley’s home promising sexual favours.
Once inside his house, she let Puckering and Price in so they could rob the 67-year-old.
But the pensioner fought back, stabbing Price in the heart with a kitchen knife.
Prosecutor Anil Murray said: “He was terrified. He was frightened and thought they were going to kill him.”
Puckering and Daysley, who stole cash and a phone, left their friend in the street to die.
Puckering’s barrister Charlotte Baines said: “It was a cowardly thing. He bitterly regrets it. He took the coward’s way out and saved himself.”
At Hull Crown Court Daysley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob and Puckering admitted robbery.
Recorder Duncan Smith sentenced Puckering to eight years imprisonment and Daysley to four years, describing their actions as “evil and wicked”.
He added: “It was an attack on an elderly and vulnerable man in his own home.
“Puckering, you used physical force to rob him.
“Daysley, you acted as bait and played on this old man’s weaknesses.”
Mr Moseley was originally charged with murder, but the CPS accepted he was acting in self-defence
