A patriotic purchase has tripled special production at a Chadderton upholstery business.
Fitton Upholstery, established over 90 years, has been commissioned to create three Union flag Chesterfield settees for a mystery buyer in London.
The order for the Falcon Business Centre company has left owner Ted Fitton speculating that they may be off to an Olympic venue.
Ted, who inherited the business from his father, and whose son Duncan is following in his footsteps, said: “They have been ordered by someone in Nottingham to go to offices in London but they don’t want to say what they are intended for.
“I’m just happy for the work. We make a lot of prestige furniture for interior designers, one or two retailers, and manufacture for show homes.
“It’s one of the more unusual orders we’ve had.”
