Wallwork handled stolen vehicles

A FORMER Manchester United star has admitted handling stolen cars.
Ronnie Wallwork (33), of Mather Street, Failsworth, pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to three charges of handling stolen goods last year.
Judge Anthony Russell QC, the Recorder of Preston, warned him on Friday: “All sentencing options will be open to the court”.
He was remanded on bail and will be sentenced at a date to be arranged.
Wallwork, a man of previous good character, admitted handling a stolen Volkswagen, BMW and Mazda.
His not guilty plea to a charge of conspiring with others to convert criminal property — stolen motor vehicles — between March and November was accepted by the prosecution.
A not-guilty plea entered by Stephen Sheil, of Newton Heath, was also accepted by the Crown.
Sheil alone admitted conspiring to make false representations to insurance companies about traffic accidents and that personal injury had been sustained.
Sheil faces sentencing in the autumn, along with several others on that charge.
Wallwork, a former Failsworth School pupil, made 28 appearances for Manchester United and also played for West Bromwich Albion, Bradford City, Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday.
