TJ store clear-out
Date published: 08 July 2011
TROUBLED trader TJ Hughes has appointed retail consultants GA Europe to advise on the sale of stock in its 57 stores.
The business went into administration at the start of the month, leaving 4,000 jobs nationwide, including jobs at the store in Oldham’s Spindles Town Square shopping centre, at risk.
Joint administrator Tom Jack, from Ernst & Young, said “We are already in discussions with over 30 interested parties and we are encouraged by the strong level of interest in the business.
“However, there are significant stock levels.
“Promotional activity will commence immediately in all TJ Hughes stores.”
