15-mile tailback after M62 crash
Date published: 08 July 2011
MOTORISTS in Oldham suffered long delays yesterday after a serious crash on the M62.
A trapped male van driver was lifted by air ambulance after a three-car collision on the eastbound slip road of junction 22, near Saddleworth, at 2.20pm.
The knock-on effect caused up to 15 miles of tailbacks on the motorway, which also caused traffic chaos in Oldham town centre and the surrounding areas for more than four hours.
The driver was believed to have been in a serious, but not life-threatening condition.
