A fine vintage

VINTAGE car enthusiasts got a treat yesterday, when motoring enthusiasts turned up in force in Oldham town centre.
Tame Valley Vintage and Classic Car Club members arrived in style to show off their motors in the High Street for the sixth year running.
Owners chatted to shoppers about their vehicles, and lifelong vintage car fan Pete Holden from Holden Photography, joined in the spirit by parking his 1935 ivory Rolls Royce and his cream Beauford outside his Yorkshire Street shop for the day.
A total of 37 cars and three motorbikes took part in the rally, and prizes were handed out in a number of classes, with the trophy for the overall winner going to Brian Lawrence for his 1952 Ford V8 Pilot.
Promising to bring the display back to Oldham for a seventh time next year, car club chairman Mike Rigby, said: “It went very well apart from the weather.”
