Latics blow as offices ransacked

THE scene that greeted staff inside Boundary Park this morning
RAIDERS have ransacked the club shop and offices at Oldham Athletic.
Cash registers and CCTV were damaged in the break-in at Boundary Park early yesterday morning — just hours after Latics started their pre-season campaign with an away defeat at Barrow.
Chief executive Alan Hardy returned from holiday to the wrecking spree.
He said: “It’s total destruction. It is all the hassle of putting it right. We should be concentrating on getting ready for the start of the football season.”
The raid comes after two teenagers pleaded guilty on Thursday to starting a fire which caused nearly £70,000 of damage at the club in August last year.
It destroyed a hospitality suite and disabled area.
A 16 year old was sentenced to an 11-month referral order by Oldham Youth Court and his 17-year-old accomplice received a 12-month rehabilitation order.
Mr Hardy said nothing appeared to have been taken in the latest attack.
It is too early to put a figure on the cost of the damage.
