Anger as club is targeted again

RAIDERS broke into Oldham Rugby League Club’s Whitebank Stadium late on Monday night — for the fifth time in three months — and ransacked a storage hut.
Crowbars were used to remove metal grilles on the windows of the hut, that was formerly used for the sale of refreshments.
The windows were then smashed and forced and the intruders caused damage to the inside of the hut, before turning their attention to a near-by catering trailer.
“They tried to get into the trailer by forcing the door,” said angry club chairman Chris Hamilton.
“They damaged the door, but fortunately they couldn’t get in.
“This is the fifth time something like this has happened since the spring.
“A lot of people are working hard to get the club on a good footing, but we continue to be the victim of attacks like this.
“Words that can’t be printed don’t come near to what I would like to say.”
The club is appealing to anyone with information to ring the club, the police on 0161-872 5050 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111.
