Man threatened fork-in-eye attack

A MAN threatened to stab his former partner in the eye with a fork, Oldham magistrates were told.
The court heard that in the first of two incidents Nicholas John Williams (23), of Eldon Street, punched the woman in the face, dragged her along by her hair and pulled her to the ground on April 5.
Rebecca Radcliffe, prosecuting, said that in the second incident on June 28, Williams’s partner saw him loitering outside her home but when she went to the front door he barged past her.
He grabbed a hot pan off the stove and held it above his head as if to hit her with it before grabbing her by the throat and pinning her against the wall.
He also threatened to stab her in the eye with a fork.
Williams pleaded guilty and in mitigation, the court heard how in the first incident Williams realised he was wrong straight away. He had wanted to talk to her but she had gone into the bathroom, so in a bid to get her attention he pulled her to the ground. He admitted being out of control.
On the second occasion, Williams had received text messages from his partner, saying that their son was allowed to call another man “daddy” — which wound-up Williams.
It was also claimed that Williams grabbed his former partner by the cardigan and not by the throat.
Williams is due to be sentenced on August 3.
