A CHADDERTON landlord had his hopes of soaring to great heights in a homemade plane grounded — because of bad weather.
But Andrew Atherton, who runs the Whitegate pub, will get another opportunity to take part in the Bognor Birdman event when itis rescheduled next month.
He was all set to leap from the pier into the English channel at the weekend in his recreation of the 1902 Wright Brotheris plane when the contest was postponed at the last minute.
