Inspirational . . . Hannah Ransome celebrates the successful completion of the Race For Life with her fellow runners, in memory of her late mother.
A BUBBLY girl from Shaw inspirationally ran and raised funds in memory of her late mother.
Hannah Ransome (11) put her heart into the Race for Life at Manchester’s Heaton Park.
Donna Ransome lost her battle against cancer just days after her daughter’s eighth birthday, at the age of 38.
The East Crompton St James’ Primary School pupil was joined by eight members of school staff, an ex-pupil and a parent, who were inspired by the youngster’s determination.
Head teacher Maureen Barnet, said: “Hannah is a delight and an extremely bubbly child.
“She speaks about her mum all the time and was getting very excited about doing the race.
“Donna was a lovely lady, who was on the PTA board, before she became ill.”
Through amazing support and fundraising, a total of £1,115 has been raised for Cancer Research UK — which included £300 from a non-uniform day at Hannah’s school.
