Tracey Hulme puts her pet, Sasha, through her paces in the agility test.
EVERY dog has its day, and pampered pooches certainly had their day when they entered the first Stoneleigh Dog Show.
Proud owners paraded their pets in seven classes, showing off their best features in everything from agility and obedience to best trick, waggiest tail, and dog most like its owner.
The event, held at Stoneleigh Park, was organised by the Friends of Stoneleigh Park, with support from Groundwork Derker Action Team.
“They were brilliant, we couldn’t have done it without them,” said Angela Cosgrove, secretary of the Friends group.
She said: “We organised it at the request of residents who are dog walkers, and more than 500 people were there.
“It was absolutely brilliant. We hope to have another dog show next year if we can get the funding.”
Dogs of all shapes and sizes went home with prizes, and show champion was Meggie the golden retriever, owned by Laura Smith.
