A dazzling display of artwork has helped to launch the beginning of construction at a £15million town-centre housing site.
Bramall Construction, which is building the new development off St Mary’s Way in Oldham, worked with Symphony Housing and local schools to find winning pieces of art to brighten up the hoardings around the site. Pupils from the Blue Coat School, Holy Cross CE Primary and Beever Primary submitted entries which were then unveiled.
The 18-month scheme will see 93 affordable houses built at the corner of Egerton Street and Horsedge Street. The houses will be available for rent, or a rent-to-homebuy scheme, and tenants for housing association homes will be nominated from the council’s waiting list.
