Thirteen charged after drug raids

THIRTEEN men have been charged following police raids to tackle drug dealing in Oldham last Thursday.

Police targeted 15 addresses in dawn raids across the borough and arrested 15 people.

Aaron Flanagan (24), of Earnshaw Close, Ashton, Aaron Southwood (26), of Cherry Avenue, Alt, and Curtis Swales (24), of Fir Tree Avenue, Fitton Hill, were charged with supplying Class A drugs and appeared before Oldham Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

They have been remanded on unconditional bail and will appear before the same court on September 1 for committal.

Akhtar Hussain (19), of Clarkwell Close, Coldhurst; Mohammed Ruhel Miah (19), of Main Road, Westwood; Ashrafur Rahman (19), of Richmond Walk, Werneth; Ghulam Hussain (20), of Eleanor Street, Westwood; and Mustafa Ghulam (28) of Eleanor Street, Westwood, were all charged with supplying Class A drugs.

They will appear at Oldham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Joshim Ali (18), of Widdop Street, Westwood; Hasan Ullah (21), of Middleton Road, Oldham; Abdul Ullah (21) of Middleton Road, Oldham; and Mohammed Mutiur Rahman (18), of Colwyn Street, Westwood, were all charged with supplying Class A drugs.

All four are due to appear at Oldham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, along with Christopher Delaney (32), of Buckfast Avenue, Alt, who has been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

An 18-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

Both have been bailed until September 6 pending further inquiries.
