Disney fun for Sophie film-goers
Date published: 29 July 2011
A MONTH of Disney magic movies are coming to Oldham — with the return of the Small Cinema.
The brainchild of 18-year-old Sophie Barrott from Royton — the 80-seater community cinema brings four animated classics for all the family.
Held at the Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre an old or new favourite will be screened every Tuesday at 2pm.
First up, on Tuesday, is the hair-raising “Tangled” — Disney’s version of the traditional fairytale Rapunzel. Cinema goers can then enjoy “The Jungle Book”, “Rango” and “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” in the following weeks.
Youngsters can also get creative with free movie-related arts and craft activities from noon before each film.
Sophie, a student at Oldham Sixth Form College who wanted to bring the cinema back to the area, said: “We’ve listened to audience requests and are looking forward to showing some classic cartoons that children young and old will enjoy.”
Advance booking is available from Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre, Greaves Street, Oldham or by calling 0161-770 4643.
