Gang mugs woman, 19

A TEENAGER had her handbag stolen by a gang of youths in Oldham.
The 19-year-old was walking along Middleton Road, Westwood, between 6.30pm and 6.50pm on Wednesday when she was approached by five teenagers who demanded her mobile phone.
She was pushed, causing her to fall into a bus stop and a youth grabbed her around the neck before she let go of the bag.
The muggers, who ran off towards Westbourne Street, are described as Asian, in their late teens, between 5ft 5in and 5ft 8in tall and of slim build.
One had gelled black hair and wore a black Adidas top with red stripes on the arm.One had a shaved head and wore a bright green T- shirt and another wore a shiny black tracksuit with dark stripes.
PC Jill Scott said: “The robbery took place on a main road, very close to the junction of Westbourne Street and we believe there may have been a number of people who saw it take place.”
