Tea at the palace
Date published: 01 August 2011
AN invitation to take tea with the Queen gave Delph charity worker Gill Bussey and her husband Bill the chance to mingle with Royalty.
Grandmother Gill won a Pride in Oldham award last year for her tireless voluntary work which has raised tens of thousands of pounds for local charities.
And she believes it is the recognition she received as a Pride in Oldham winner which earned her the invitation to a Royal garden party at Buckingham Palace.
She said: “It was fabulous. We saw the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Camilla and Princess Anne.
“It was a fantastic experience, really lovely, something you think you would never do.”
