A FED-UP councillor points out “closed” roads when they are not even shut.
Former council leader Howard Sykes claims signs are littered across the borough telling drivers roads are closed when they are open.
He said: “I wish I could say this is a one-off but it is not. We usually have a fight to get any information signs displayed. Then they are left up once work in completed.”
Signs about the closure of Grains Road, Shaw for two weeks (to July 3) are still standing on several approach routes and on the road itself. Drivers have been able to drive on the road for a month.
Councillor Sykes believes the out of date signs are causing chaos in his ward.
