A 28-year-old woman had to be cut free from her car yesterday after a horror smash in Hollinwood.
Two cars collided in Manchester Road at the junction with the M60 at around 1.40pm.
The male driver of a black Mercedes managed to walk free from his vehicle, but the female driver of a grey Peugeot 206 was trapped.
Fire-fighters from Chadderton and Blackley had to cut the roof of the car to free the driver who was said to be conscious, breathing and in a relatively calm state.
Crews were at the scene for half an hour during which the woman was freed the wreckage and taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital by ambulance staff with suspected spinal injuries.
