OLDHAM’S Asian Business Association has strengthened its links with Madhlo by handing over £2,500 to support Oldham’s new youth club.
The £5million state-of-the art building, at the corner of Horsedge Street and Egerton Street, is due to open in January.
And local business people are keen to encourage young people from all sections of the Oldham community to use the new youth-zone centre.
The Asian Business Association is in the process of winding down and is donating the money it holds to local good causes.
William Lees Jones, chairman of the Mahdlo board, said: “It’s great to have the Asian Business Association on board because it shows that Oldham is making great progress and has moved a long way forward from the riots of 10 years ago.”
