£1m housing revamp joy

PENSIONERS in two sets of sheltered housing in Oldham are celebrating the completion of a £1million revamp.
First Choice Homes Oldham has invested the cash in upgrading 71 properties at Daisyhill and Rosehill Court in Waterhead.
New kitchens, bathrooms, roofs, front doors and central-heating systems have been installed as part of the overhaul — and elderly residents are thrilled.
Gas mains have also been installed in the properties as part of a grander £149million investment programme by FCHO over the next five years.
Bramall Construction, who were appointed to carry out the rewiring and revamp, also donated a flat-screen TV to the scheme’s community rooms and a new washer and dryer to the laundry room.
