Lightning strikes house

A bolt of lightning struck a house in Mossley during storms over the weekend.
It hit the roof of the property in Roaches Way at around 10am on Saturday during the heavy storm.
Two crews of fire-fighters from Mossley and Stalybridge were called out and used a ladder to reach out a small fire that had started in the roof timbers of the semi-detached house.
The storm also caused flooding in Old Lane, Scouthead.
The weather is set to stabilise for the next few days with clouds and light showers expected.
However Met Office forecasters predict d heavy rain and gusts of up to 30mph on Wednesday.
